The world’s cheapest electric car, manufactured by Chinese automaker Great Wall Motors, will enter India next month.

Along with other brands, Great Wall Motors will showcase the world’s cheapest electric car – Ora R1 at the upcoming Auto Expo 2020.

The Auto Expo 2020 – Motor Show 2020 – will be held from February 7-12 at Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh.

According to media reports, the expected price of the car in India will be available at $8,680 to $11,293, which translates to Rs 6.23 lakh to Rs 8 lakh.

The Great Wall Motors recently announced its entry in India with Haval and Ora brands.

With the Indian automobile industry is making a shift from the internal combustion engine (ICE) to electric vehicles, middle-class families in India are eagerly waiting for the launch of the cheapest cars.

The Great Wall Motors will showcase two of its brands – Ora and Havel – at the upcoming Auto Expo 2020.

The largest pick-up manufacturer in China, Great Wall Motors (GWM) owns four brands – Haval, Wey, Ora and Great Wall Pickup.

Based in Baoding Hebei, about 150km south of Beijing, the national capital of China, GWM is looking for a suitable location to set up a manufacturing plant in India.

It has been reported that GWM may acquire General Motors’ manufacturing facility in Maharashtra.

What are the interesting features of Ora R1 electric car?

Ora R1 electric car will give a maximum mileage of 351 km through its 35 KW motor on a single charge.

It will be equipped with an artificial intelligence feature along with a connectivity feature.

The owner can wake up the car by saying, “Hello, Ora”.

The top speed of the cheapest electric car in the world will be around 100 kmph.

The company will provide free servicing for 3 years or 1.20 lakh km and 8 years or 1.50 lakh km.

GWM sells three electric cars under Ora brand which include R1, R2, and iQ.
