Assam elections Digboi rally
Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal addressed the gathering, criticizing the Congress party for what he described as “decades of neglect” in Digboi, particularly regarding the modernization of the Digboi Refinery.

Digboi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held a rally in Digboi on Tuesday at the Balijan public auditorium to support its candidate, Suren Phukan. The event was attended by a large number of people.

Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal addressed the gathering, criticizing the Congress party for what he described as “decades of neglect” in Digboi, particularly regarding the modernization of the Digboi Refinery. He highlighted the BJP-led central government’s role in increasing the refinery’s capacity.

Suren Phukan also spoke at the rally, noting development in Digboi and expressing confidence in winning the upcoming election. He stated that the contest would be determined by performance rather than promises.

Party sources said Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is scheduled to hold another rally at Digboi’s Jubilee Ground on April 2.

The event included cultural performances, including Bihu and Jhumur dances, and concluded with Sonowal and Phukan joining the performers.
