Karimganj College Assam is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the govt job of Principal in 2026.

Eligibility Criteria :
(i) A Master ‘s Degree with at least 55% marks (or also an equivalent grade in a point scale) from a recognised University.
(ii) A Ph.D Degree in concerned / allied/relevant discipline(s) in the institutions concerned with
evidence of published work.
(iii) Associate Professor/Professor with a total experience of fifteen years of teaching/ research / Administration altogether in University/Colleges and other institutions of Higher Education.
(iv) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) on the basis of
Performance Based Appraisal in Appendix III for direct recruitment of Professors in Colleges.
(v) A relaxation of 5% is considerable at the graduate and master’s level for the Scheduled Caste/ Schedule Tribe/Differently abled (Physically and visually differently abled) categories for the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good academic record during direct recruitment teaching positions. The eligibility marks of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in a point scale and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible based on only the qualifying marks without including any grace mark procedures.
(vi) A relaxation of 5% is considerable from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D Degree holders
Now the UGC vide regulation dated 18-07-2018 has modified the eligibility criteria for the post of Principals of Provincialised Colleges as shown below:
(i) Ph.D Degree.
(ii) Professor/Associate Professor with a total service/experience of at least fifteen years of
teaching/research in Universities, Colleges and also other institutions of Higher Education.
(iii) A minimum of 10 research publications in peer reviewed or UGC listed journals.
(iv) A minimum of 110 Research Score as per Appendix II at Table-2.
Upper Age Limit : 55 years as per prescribed rules
