Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute (BBCI) Guwahati Assam is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the post or career of Assistant Medical Officer (Palliative Medicine). Dr. Bhubaneswar Borooah Cancer Institute (BBCI) was altogether set up by a voluntary organization called ‘Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Society Trust’. Dr. Bhubaneswar Borooah (4th September 1893 – 25th September 1956) was a great physician, freedom fighter and also a philanthropist of Assam.  In 1958 at a public meeting in Guwahati, some people altogether took a decision to set up a cancer hospital at Guwahati to commemorate the memory of Dr. Bhubaneswar Borooah. The Institute came into being on 18th November 1973 and became operational from 1974. The Institute also became as Regional Cancer Centre by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India in the year 1980. On 6th of August, 1986 the B Borooah Cancer Society Trust handed the institute to the Government of Assam. The Department of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India took over the institute on 27th November 2017 as a unit of Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai

Eligibility Criteria : BDS with Fellowship in Palliative Medicine or Certificate Course in Palliative Medicine

Salary : Rs. 50,000 – 65,000/- per month

Age Limit : 40 years, extendable also for in-service candidates of TMC

Selection Procedure :

A walk-in-interview will be held on 10th April 2024 from 10 AM to 11 AM at Conference Hall, Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute, Guwahati-16, Assam
