Newly-appointed Tripura governor Ramesh Bais, who is likely to take oath on Sunday, arrived at Agartala along with his family members on Saturday.
Bais was given a gun salute by the troopers of Tripura State Riffles at the Raj Bhavan following which he called on Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb, his wife and cabinet colleagues.
After that, Bais had a meeting with chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb on various issues inside the Raj Bhavan.
The outgoing governor, Professor Kaptan Singh Solanki, is likely to leave the state on Sunday.
Welcoming the newly-appointed Tripura governor, chief minister Deb on Saturday stated on his Twitter handle: “Welcomed new Governor of Tripura Shri Ramesh Bais ji today on behalf of 37 lacs people of Tripura at Raj Bhavan in Agartala.”
“With the blessings of Chaturdash Devta and Mata Tripurasundari together we will work for the well-being of the people of Tripura,” he added.
On Saturday, chief minister Deb also had a courtesy meeting with outgoing governor Prof. Kaptan Sing Solanki at the former’s residence.
The chief minister thanked Solanki on behalf of 37 lakh people of Tripura for serving the state.
Deb also wished good health and best wishes for Solanki’s future endeavours.
Informing about the meeting on his Twitter handle, Deb on Saturday stated: “Had a courtesy meeting with outgoing Governor Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki ji today Evening, at my residence.”
“I sincerely thank Solanki ji on behalf of 37 lakh people of #Tripura for serving our State. I wish him good health and best wishes for his future endeavours,” he added.
