Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Assam’s star sprinter Hima Das on her stupendous success of winning five gold medals at a row.
Modi took to Twitter in sending his wishes to Hima Das.

Modi in his official Twitter handle wrote:
‘India is very proud of @HimaDas8 ’s phenomenal achievements over the last few days. Everyone is absolutely delighted that she has brought home five medals in various tournaments. Congratulations to her and best wishes for her future endeavours.’
Hima was also prompt to reply to Modi wishes.
In a reply in her Twitter handle handle Hima Das wrote:
‘Thank you @narendramodi sir for your kind wishes. I will continue to work hard and bring more medals for our country.’
Hima Das, who is also known as ‘Dhing Express’, won her fifth gold in the month after finishing 400 m on the top at Prague in Czech Republic on Saturday.
Informing about her win, Hima Das on her Twitter handle stated:
“Finished 400m today on the top here in Czech Republic today.”
According to media reports, Hima Das, who hails from Dhing in Assam’s Nagaon district, clocked 52.09 seconds to complete the 400 m race and registered best timing of the season.
However, the personal best timing of the Indian sprinter, who continues to bring laurels to her country and state, is 50.99 seconds.
She recorded her best timing at the Asian Games last year.
The month’s first gold was won by Hima Das on July 2.
She grabbed the gold in 200 m race by clocking 23.65 seconds at the Poznan Athletics Grand Prix in Poland on July 2, 2019.
Hima Das won her second gold on July 7 at the Kutno Athletics Meet, also in Poland, by clocking 23.43 seconds.
Continuing her winning spree, Hima Das won the third gold in 200 m race at the Kladno Athletics Meet in Czech Republic by clocking 23.43 seconds.
After that, her fourth gold came in 15 days when she won 200 m race by clocking 23.25 seconds at Tabor Athletics Meet in Czech Republic on Wednesday.
Several personalities from sports, entertainment and other fields also congratulate Hima Das on her becoming the first Indian track athlete to hold global title in Under 20 400 M in an international event.
These include celebrities like Sachin Tendulkar, Mohd Kaif, Suniel Shetty and Anushka Sarma.
