Madani delivering provocative statement at a seminar in New Delhi recently.

HAIBORGAON: All Assam Minority Students’ Union president Kamruj Zaman Sarkar on Friday demanded the state government to publish the draft NRC within the time frame as committed earlier.

Terming the chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind Maulana Syed Arshad Madani and VHP leader Pravin Togadia as imported leaders trying to instigate communal riots between Hindus and Muslims  Sarkar said some evil  forces are trying to create a panic in Assam by creating trouble in the updation of NRC. He also demanded Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal who is also holding the portfolio of home department to take steps against those evil forces and punish them as per laws.

It may be mentioned here that the Jamiat chief recently fuelled controversy at a seminar in New Delhi by stating that Assam will burn and there will be killings and retaliation if 50 lakh Muslims are left out in the ongoing Supreme Court-monitored updation of National Register of Citizens (NRC) 1951. Three FIRs were lodged against  Madani on charge of issuing provocative statements regarding the ongoing updation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam.
