A woman was allowed to recast her vote in Assam on Thursday after she complained that a polling official had forced her to vote for a party she did not support.
The incident happened at a polling booth in Dalgaon in Assamโs Mangaldoi constituency, according to reports.

The woman named Maleka Khatun was allowed to cast her vote for a second time by polling officials at Sarisabari polling station.
Zonal officer Jayanta Medhi said that she was allowed to cast a โtender voteโ.

A voter is allowed to cast a โtender voteโ if he/she finds out that someone has already voted in his or her name.
Tender votes are cast on ballot papers and then sealed and locked away. Officials said that there are modalities of counting such votes.
Darrang districtโs Deputy Commissioner said no complaint has been received from the polling station.
