Pawan Chamling, bidding for an unprecedented sixth term as the Sikkim chief minister, has assured youths that those left out in the ‘One-Family-One-Job-Scheme’ will be covered within 100 days of the formation of his new government.

Almost a week into his 10-day long ‘Sikkim Vijay Sankalp Rally’, Chamling on Thursday assured the youngsters that his government will be youth-centric as evident by party nomination being given to a large number of youth for the coming elections.

Election to the 32-member Sikkim Assembly is due on April 11 alongside the Lok Sabha battle.

Chamling shared some of the projects planned by the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) government for the development of Kabi-Lungchok constituency such as an orchid sanctuary, veterinary college, high priority to be given to animal husbandry, promotion of adventure, medicinal and organic tourism and construction of a life-size statue of goddess Dolma, the local deity.

The five-term chief minister, whose SDF was earlier in the ruling NDA, alleged that the opposition “SKM party is on the payroll of BJP. Just as they sold their party to the BJP, they are out to sell the dreams, aspirations, rights and future of the people of Sikkim”.

He urged the people to vote again for the SDF and warned people against “seasonal politicians” who will disappear immediately after the elections.
