Altogether 377 numbers of selected young beneficiaries have been distributed bank loan sanction letters in Darrang district of Assam under the Swami Vivekananda Assam Youth Empowerment Yojana (SVAYEM).

Much to the delight of the large no of unemployed youths of the district, bank loan sanction letters to start a new business or expansion of his or her existing business.

In this connection a public function was organized by the District Industries and Commerce Centre (DICC) at District Library auditorium, Mangaldai on Thursday.

The programme was attended by several invited guests including legislators of Mangaldai and Sipajhar, Gurujyoti Das and Binanda Kr Saikia respectively, additional deputy commissioner Kalpana Deka, Lead Bank manager Pradip Goswami, prominent industrialist Anupam Deka and chairman of Mangaldai and Kharupetia Municipal Boards Manik Sil and Krishna Saha respectively.

The dignitaries ceremonially distributed sanction letters of relevant bank loans each amounting to 55 per cent of the total business project against 20 per cent government subsidy and the rest 25 per cent for investment by the beneficiary himself.

The speakers in their addresses to the beneficiaries hoped that the loan amount will be properly utilized by the beneficiaries for self-employment and will also repay it on time.

Earlier general manager, DICC, Darrang, Hema Deuri explained the objectives of the function.
