Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma inaugurated the Lake View Log House at the picturesque Umiam in Meghalaya on Wednesday.
The log house was inaugurated by Sangma in presence of Meghalaya Tourism Minister Metbah Lyngdoh and other officials from the ministry.
The beautiful log house will provide wonderful views of the scenic beauty of the Umiam Lake. The attractive feature of Umiam will be the Canopy Walk developed under Swadesh Darshan scheme of Government of India.
The Swadesh Darshan scheme was launched by the Ministry of Tourism under the Government of India for integrated development of theme based tourist circuits in the country.
The Chief Minister hoped that the tourism sector of the state will be boosted with the inauguration of the log house.
Meghalaya, known as the ‘Scotland of The East’ is an abode of pristine natural beauty and is considered to be one of the richest botanical habitats in Asia.
