Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Dr Jitendra Singh while replying to a question in the Parliament on Thursday said that the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is not aware any detection of Unidentified Flying Objects(UFOs) in Manipur.
The reply was given in the Rajya Sabha around three months after residents of Churanchandpur district of Manipur reported sighting of UFO in the sky.
While replying in the Upper House, the DoNER minister said that natives most often mistake aircraft movement or other ‘dynamical process in the atmosphere that mimics a moving object’ for UFOs.
Notably, last year in the month of October, mysterious video of an UFO in the skies of Manipur had caught the fancy of the locals as it went viral.
When the DoNER Minister was asked if the government would make a thorough investigation into the matter, Dr Singh replied that if any evidence is found then the ISRO could carry out a study in this regard.
