Along with rest of the country, Cachar district BJP leaders too, submitted a memorandum to the President of India, through, Deputy Commissioner Cachar, Dr S Lakhsmanan, at his official chambers on Wednesday in Silchar.
The memorandum, in simple terms, spoke of, for the removal of Congress party’s national president, Rahul Gandhi, from his position of a ‘public servant’ for playing with an important issue of national security, the ubiquitous, the buying of Rafale fighter jets from France.
In their memorandum to the President of India, BJP leaders of Cachar, wrote that, “After the decision of the Supreme Court, it is very much clear that the Congress party and its president, Rahul Gandhi, has been using this issue only for the sake of their own narrow political benefits. This is a very serious matter that an elected representative of the country, who is also a president of a national political party, is misleading the people on the basis of inaccurate facts and blatant lies,” signed, by Cachar district BJP president, Kaushik Rai.
Talking to Northeast Now, following the submission of the memorandum, former Union Minister, Kabindra Purkayastha, said, “Even after giving a clean chit by the Supreme Court on the agreement of the Rafale fighter jets, with that of India, by the Modi led government, Rahul Gandhi’s persistent sledging and use of foul languages against the Prime minister of India, Narendra Modi, is very shameful and condemnable.”
Kabindra Purkayastha added, “In his remarks across various rallies of the country, Rahul Gandhi is trying to mislead people by saying that PM Modi has helped with Rs 30,000 crores by giving it to Anil Ambani. His remarks which are full of blatant lies and inaccurate inputs, has come out in the open now and the common people would make their best judgment on this issue.”
Not to be left out, former Deputy Speaker of Assam, Dilip Kumar Paul, went a step further in comparing Rahul Gandhi to that of Nazi propagandist, Joseph Goebbels.
Speaking to this correspondent he said, “Rahul Gandhi should say sorry for trying to mislead people. We condemn this with the strongest of words. I would say it is not his fault, rather is in the DNA of his entire family for we have not forgotten the ‘bofors’ issue till now.”
Dilip Kumar Paul went on to say, “It is really sad that the words used by Rahul Gandhi against a Prime Minister of India, is highly condemnable and he should say sorry for the comments passed on various platforms, from time to time”.
Apart from former Union Minister, Kabindra Purkayastha and former Deputy Speaker Dilip Kumar Paul, MLA Sonai, Aminul Haque Laskar, State BJP Spokesperson, Dr Rajdeep Roy, District BJP President, Kaushik Rai, General Secretary, Kanad Purkayastha too were present during the submission of this memorandum on Wednesday afternoon.
