‘Pichutan 3’ – the two-day long third grand re-union of Netaji Vidyapith Alumni Association (NVPAA) is going to be held at Netaji Vidyapith Railway Higher Secondary School from December 22 next at Maligaon in Guwahati.
Established in 1948, the school has already set a milestone with successful students who are contributing in nation building at various capacities with their services.
School’s ex-teachers along with the alumnus from 1963 to 1968 batch will be specially honoured by the association during the meet. Apart from that recently passed-out students of class X and XII who have secured 75 per cent marks and above will also be felicitated in the event.
In connection with the grand alumni meet, the organizing committee under the presidentship of Ashok Sen of Netaji Vidyapith Alumni Association (NVPAA) has developed a network to reconnect the ex-students of the school spread throughout the globe.
More than 300 participants with their families from different corners of India and abroad have already confirmed their presence in this grand meet.
Amitabha Choudhury, general secretary, NVPAA said, “Pichutan 3 is the platform of the ex-students of Netaji Vidyapith Railway Higher Secondary School, which was formed in 2012. Apart from developing a network among the ex-students, the prime focus of the association is to stand with the school to extend all possible support for the students’ development, keeping the modern day education and exposure needs in mind.”
One of the major attractions of the cultural extravaganza of the reunion is the live performance of Zee Bangla – Sa Re Ga Ma Pa musical pair ‘Jimut – Sohini’ on the evening of Deember 23.
Jimut Roy, the champ of 2017 – Zee Sa Re Ga Ma Pa with another Zee music fame Sohini Mukherjee will present their popular numbers as the final event of the grand reunion.
It is to be mentioned here that in coordination with Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), the association (NVPAA) has been extending its support by installing drinking water facilities in the school campus along with the introduction of study grants, medical support for the needy and promising students for their betterment too.
