The Golakganj Police of Dhubri district jointly with Labdanguri Police of Baksa district managed to arrest Meskar Ali, the main accused in the case of kidnapping and killing one seven-year-old boy.

Police arrested Ali from Poragaon village of Baksa district on Friday after a case was registered at Golakganj Police Station on October 11.

A student of Gyan Jyoti Academy, Anisur Rahman, went missing on October 11 from Balajan area under Golakganj Police Station of Dhubri district while he was returning home from his school.

But, the body of the school child was recovered on Tuesday (October 16) after a week from Kalahat area under Dhubri Police Station, which is a mile away from the house of the deceased boy.

The body was recovered in a deplorable state.

On being aggrieved at the murder of the seven-year-old boy, the locals including the members of the All Assam Minority Students’ Union also blocked the National Highway 31 for an hour recently (October 17) to mark protest and had demanded that the culprits be arrested with immediate effect.
