Haflong: The Dima Hasao Tour & Travel Committee has announced that the Jatinga Festival 2026 will be held on November 21 and 22, with this year’s edition moving to a new venue opposite Haiyam, near N. Leikul village. The festival was previously organised at Haiyam.
The two-day event will feature several musical performances, with Bollywood playback singer Kunal Ganjawala scheduled to perform on November 21. Madhubanti Bagchi and other artists will take the stage on November 22.
A major addition to this year’s festival is a new beauty pageant titled ‘Wings of Jatinga’, which organisers say aims to encourage and empower young women from the region.
Organisers have also highlighted improved road connectivity to the festival venue to make travel easier for visitors. Those travelling from Guwahati can take a 35-minute flight to Silchar, followed by a road journey of approximately 1.5 hours to reach the venue.
Meanwhile, the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council is planning to introduce additional bus services to facilitate transportation for festival-goers.
The organisers expect the festival to bring together music, cultural activities and local talent while providing visitors an opportunity to experience the region.
