Kohima: Nagaland Civil Administration Works Division (CAWD) adviser Kudecho Khamo has inspected ongoing government construction projects in Tseminyu, Wokha, Mokokchung and Tuensang districts, reviewing their progress and workmanship and urging contractors to complete the projects on schedule.
Khamo was accompanied by CAWD Assistant Chief Engineer Ketousielie Kenguruse, district officials and contractors.
In Tseminyu, the team inspected the new Deputy Commissionerโs Office Complex and flat-type quarters in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Japheth Woch, Assistant Engineer Vethivolu Nyekha and other officials.
Funded through the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme and state resources, the DC office complex is being built as a ground-plus-two reinforced cement concrete (RCC) structure. It will include a 150-seat conference hall, an elevator and accessibility features for persons with disabilities.
Kenguruse expressed confidence in the projectโs progress, while the contractor said the remaining work would be completed within six to eight months, adding that most major components were already finished. Khamo said he was satisfied with the workmanship and pace of construction and expected the project to be completed within six months.
The team also inspected the new DC Office Complex in Wokha in the presence of Deputy Commissioner K. Mhathung Tsanglao, contractors and other officials. The team reviewed the projectโs overall progress, structural components and execution.
The Wokha complex is designed as a ground-plus-one structure with two basement floors. It is intended to accommodate multiple administrative departments under one roof to improve administrative efficiency and public service delivery.
According to Kenguruse, the RCC work, brickwork and roofing have been completed. Khamo commended the progress and expressed confidence in the projectโs completion.
In Mokokchung, the team reviewed the construction of flat-type officersโ quarters, including a Type-C quarter in the town. It also inspected the Additional Deputy Commissionerโs Office Complex at Longkhim under Tuensang district.
Khamo urged contractors to maintain the pace of construction to ensure timely completion. He said the government was continuing to undertake development projects across Nagaland despite financial constraints.
He also called for improved administrative infrastructure and facilities, urging officials to ensure that welfare schemes reached intended beneficiaries, particularly in remote and underserved areas. He stressed the need for public support and collective efforts to translate government initiatives into tangible benefits.
