Guwahati: Rail services in Assam’s hill section have been disrupted after the engine of the Silchar–Guwahati Express (Train No. 15615) derailed at Badarpur Railway Bridge. No casualties have been reported.
The derailment has led to the cancellation of the Guwahati–Silchar Express (Train No. 15516), while other trains operating through the hill section have been halted at various stations, affecting connectivity.
Restoration work is underway at the site and is expected to be completed by this evening, sources said.
