Guwahati: Karnatakaโs final electoral roll, published on Tuesday following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), lists more than 4.54 crore electors, down by nearly one crore from the pre-revision count, according to data from the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO).
The state had 5,54,32,814 electors before the revision. The draft electoral roll, published on August 24, 2026, listed 4,46,35,975 voters, marking a substantial decline from the earlier count.
According to the CEOโs data, the final roll as of October 27, 2026, includes more than 2.24 crore male voters and over 2.29 crore female voters. The number of third-gender electors stands at 2,841.
The number of polling stations in Karnataka has increased by 390 to 41,888, the official data showed.
The Election Commission of India conducted the SIR exercise to verify voter details and update the electoral database. During the revision, the draft roll excluded names under categories including absent, shifted, deceased and duplicate voters, as well as other entries considered ineligible by officials.
The claims and objections period continued until September 23, during which the CEOโs office received nearly 19.5 lakh applications for inclusion, deletion and correction of voter details.
The final roll was published on October 27 after the revision process.
The exercise has drawn criticism from the ruling Congress in Karnataka and other Opposition parties, which have raised concerns over the process and the deletion of votersโ names.
