The journey has begun for Nirvaana, the third Assamese short film produced under the banner of Heartbeat Production. The film was officially released on October 9 at a solemn ceremony held at Aideo Cinema Hall in Panjabari, Guwahati. Popular Assamese actor Jatin Bora formally inaugurated the short film, while acclaimed actress Sagarika Goswami opened the event by lighting the traditional lamp. The special screening and launch of the 55-minute-long film was attended by the cast and crew, media representatives, and several prominent personalities from Assamโ€™s cultural sphere, adding to the occasionโ€™s significance.

The short film has been brought to life through the dedicated efforts of talented actress Rujula Das. Besides writing the story, screenplay, and dialogues of Nirvaana, she also plays the lead role. The film has been directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Kripal Kalita and produced by Basanta Kumar Das.

Featuring a blend of seasoned performers and emerging talents, the film explores the contemporary challenges of psychological stress and the journey towards emotional healing. The diverse characters are brought to life by an ensemble cast that includes Rujula Das, Champak Sharma, Mallika Sharma, Ruma Kalita, Dikshit Barman, Jishnu, Dibya Pratim Bhagawati, Raj Kulanandan Saikia, Jyotishman Saikia, Violina Deka, Harshil Kalita, Kiara Sharma Das, and Madhusmita Kalita Pathak, among others.

Adding to the filmโ€™s appeal are two melodious songs, both performed by emerging artiste Shreya Kashyap. One of the tracks has been written by Binisha Devi, while Rujula Das has composed the music and tunes.

The presence of the cast, crew, fans, and well-wishers added warmth and charm to the evening, marking the launch of Nirvaana as a special occasion for the Assamese film fraternity.
