Addressing the function, Deputy Superintendent of Police (HQ), Udalguri, Moidul Islam, observed that the growing incidents of crimes in State are inextricably linked to the alcohol menace and prevalence of substance abuse and drug addiction among youths.

He further said that these are the grievous challenges confronting the children which if not controlled appropriately can destroy the whole generation.

“The menace of substance abuse among the school-going children is on the rise and though the police have acted tough against the drug suppliers it is the parents and teachers, who have a pivotal role to join hands in fighting against the menace of drug abuse,” he added.
