Imphal: The President of India has appointed four Manipur Civil Service (MCS) officers to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) on probation until further orders.
According to an official notification issued on September 18, 2026, by the Under Secretary to the Government of India, the appointments were made under Rule 8(1) of the IAS (Recruitment) Rules, 1954, and Regulation 9(1) of the IAS (Probation) Rules, 1954.
The newly elevated officers from the 2024 Select List include A. Romita Devi, Additional Secretary (CAF&PD & SCERT); K. Bono Singh, Additional Secretary (Works & School Education); Kh. Lalmani Singh, Secretary, Manipur Public Service Commission; and H. Balkrisna Singh, Additional Secretary (Home, Relief & Disaster Management) and Project Director, Loktak Development Authority.
The notification stated that the promotions fill vacancies determined by the Government of India under Regulation 5(1), following consultations with the State Government.
Furthermore, the officers have been formally allocated to the Manipur Cadre under Rule 5(1) of the IAS (Cadre) Rules, 1954.
