Food ordering and delivery giant Foodpanda India and Zomato India has expanded its operations to Guwahati as a part of its expansion strategy.

Foodpanda GmbH is a German mobile food delivery marketplace.

Zomato is an Indian restaurant search and discovery service founded in 2008.

Apart from Guwahati, Foodpanda has also expanded its operations to 12 cities. They are Jaipur, Chandigarh, Kanpur, Lucknow, Indore, Ahmedabad, Nashik, Nagpur, Mysore, Bhubaneswar, Visakhapatnam and Coimbatore. The company also employed 5000 people as delivery partners to carry put its operations in the 13 cities thereby generating employment.

Earlier, the company’s delivery network existed only in cities like Bengaluru, Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune.

Foodpanda India CEO Pranay Jivrajka said,” We are in the midst of a fast-paced nationwide expansion with an ambition to serve a billion Indians”.

Like Ola, Foodpanda is also using hyperlocal solutions to solve unique local challenges, reports The Business Standard.

Foodpanda is also thinking of employing another 60000 persons as delivery riders within next two months for providing a hassle free delivery experience in the 13 cities.
