Imphal: Manipur University and Malaysia’s INTI International University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) virtually on Thursday.
The partnership aims to improve academic cooperation through joint research, student exchanges, and internships.
M Premjit Singh, Registrar, signed on behalf of Manipur University, while Goh Khang Wen, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Global Engagement, signed for INTI International University.
MU Vice Chancellor RK Hemakumar Singh, Dean, School of Social Sciences, Memcha Loitongbam, and Director, International Relations and Collaborations Centre, INTI, Asokan Vasudevan, signed as witnesses.
Under the MoU, INTI can host up to 20 exchange students from Manipur University each semester.
Selected students get free housing and no tuition fees. Students only need to pay a visa fee of 1,500 Malaysian Ringgit. INTI also shared details of its QS 4-Star rating and strong rankings among Asian universities during the event.
The agreement covers many fields, including science, technology, and engineering, business management and finance, liberal arts and social sciences, and skill development and sustainable goals.
University leaders, including Director, Manipur Institute of Management Studies, Ch Ibohal Meitei, said the partnership helps Manipur University implement the new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 by offering better global exposure and learning opportunities for students.
