Guwahati: Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has revised train operations in the Lumding-Badarpur hill section following track settlement near New Harangajao Station, where restoration work is currently underway.
The railway tracks on both Line-1 and Line-2 have been affected by settlement. Train movement through the section is presently being handled through Line-3 under enhanced safety arrangements while repair and restoration activities continue.
As part of the latest changes, Train No. 15615 Guwahati-Silchar Express scheduled to leave on August 14 has been cancelled. Its corresponding service, Train No. 15616 Silchar-Guwahati Express, scheduled for August 15, has also been cancelled.
NFR has also revised the departure timings of several other services.
Train No. 15650 Narangi-Agartala Express will leave Narangi at 10:30 pm on August 14, while Train No. 15649 Agartala-Narangi Express will depart Agartala at 11:30 pm the same day.
Train No. 15609 Guwahati-Sairang Express will now leave Guwahati at 11:30 pm on August 14. In the opposite direction, Train No. 15610 Sairang-Guwahati Express will depart Sairang at 9:30 pm.
Similarly, Train No. 15611 Rangiya-Silchar Express will depart Rangiya at 11:30 pm on August 14. Train No. 15612 Silchar-Rangiya Express will leave Silchar at 5 am on August 15.
The schedule of Train No. 20507 Anand Vihar Terminal-Sairang Express has also been changed. The service, scheduled to commence its journey on August 14, will now depart Sairang at 9:10 pm.
NFR further said Train No. 20502 Anand Vihar Terminal-Agartala Tejas Express, which commenced its journey on August 12, will be regulated at suitable points along its route.
According to the railway authorities, the temporary changes are intended to support restoration activities and maintain safe train movement through the affected hill section.
Passengers travelling on the affected routes have been advised to check the revised schedules before leaving for their stations.
