Dibrugarh: Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare and Chemicals and Fertilizers Jagat Prakash Nadda will undertake a three-day visit to Assam, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh from August 4 to 6, during which he is scheduled to review the health situation in flood-affected areas and attend a series of official engagements.
According to the official itinerary, Nadda will arrive in Dibrugarh from New Delhi on August 4 and stay overnight in the town.
On August 5, he will visit flood-affected areas in Charaideo district before travelling to Mon district in Nagaland for official programmes. Later in the day, he will return to Dibrugarh to hold a meeting with the Assam government and participate in local events before staying overnight in the town.
On August 6, the Union Minister will travel from Dibrugarh to Yazali in Arunachal Pradesh’s Keyi Panyor district to attend official engagements, including a review of the health situation in flood-affected areas.
During the tour, Nadda is expected to assess the healthcare response and interact with officials on measures taken in the aftermath of the recent floods that affected parts of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
Both states witnessed widespread devastation due to floods and landslides in recent weeks, resulting in significant loss of life, displacement of residents and extensive damage to infrastructure, agriculture and public property.
Nadda is among the senior-most ministers in the Narendra Modi-led NDA government and oversees the Union Ministries of Health and Family Welfare and Chemicals and Fertilizers.
