Dimapur: The Nagaland Skill & Entrepreneurship Development Mission (NSEDM) under the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) inaugurated the NSEDM, IDAN Japanese Language Centre at the Capital Convention Centre in Kohima on Wednesday, reaffirming its commitment to equipping the youth of Nagaland with market-driven skills and enhancing their global employability.

Speaking on the occasion, Adviser for Higher Education and Technical Education Temjenmenba urged the youth of Nagaland to embrace skill development and entrepreneurship to remain competitive in a rapidly changing global economy.

He said the state government has prioritised skill development through various initiatives, with NSEDM playing a key role in equipping youth with industry-relevant skills.

Stating that government employment alone cannot absorb the growing number of educated youth, Temjenmenba urged students and job seekers to explore opportunities in entrepreneurship and the private sector.

Sharing the vision of NSEDM, Additional Secretary and Project Manager of NSEDM, IDAN, Vineet Kumar said skilling and entrepreneurship would play a crucial role in shaping the future of Nagaland.

He said NSEDM, established in October 2025, has so far trained over 3,500 youth, while around 800 trainees are currently undergoing various skill development programmes.

He added that more than 1,000 beneficiaries have either secured employment or become self-employed through the missionโ€™s interventions.

Kumar said the launch of the centre would equip youth with Japanese language proficiency, enabling them to access employment opportunities in Japan and other international markets.

He also highlighted the growing partnership between Nagaland and Japan, describing skill development as one of the key areas of cooperation.
