The Argentine captain reached the landmark after coming off the bench in the second half and curling a stunning free-kick into the top corner in the 80th minute. His goal wrapped up Argentina’s victory in their final group-stage fixture and further extended his record as the highest World Cup goalscorer in history, taking his tally to 19.
