Imphal: Marking the observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the 6th India Reserve Battalion (IRB), Pangei, partnered with the District Level Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan Committee, Imphal East, to host a major awareness programme at Manipur’s Hundred Flowers Higher Secondary School.

Organisers held the event under the national theme, โ€œNasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan โ€“ Viksit Bharat Ki Pehchaanโ€.

The event brought together key stakeholders, including S. Ibomcha Singh (IPS, Commandant, 6th IRB), Ksh. Jibanmala Devi (Project Director, Kripa Foundation), W. Thamabati Devi (District Social Welfare Officer, Imphal East), Ph. Premjit Singh (Medical Officer, 6th IRB), and Md. Sabir (Principal, Hundred Flowers Higher Secondary School).

They were joined by 6th IRB personnel, along with the schoolโ€™s teachers and students.

Resource persons at the event highlighted the devastating physical and social impacts of substance abuse, stressing the need for collective, community-wide action to combat illicit trafficking.

Speakers urged the participating youth to adopt healthy lifestyles and champion anti-drug initiatives to help build a stronger, more progressive nation.
