Guwahati: A peaceful protest was organised at Freedom Park in Bengaluru, Karnataka, on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at 4 p.m. by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) as part of a nationwide agitation demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
The protest is linked to allegations of a NEET question paper leak and reported irregularities in the CBSE on-screen evaluation process.
The event saw participation from CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke and activist Sonam Wangchuk, along with several supporters.
Earlier, actor Prakash Raj had suggested that Sonam Wangchuk could be a suitable choice for India’s Education Minister.
Responding to this, Wangchuk said the position should ideally be held by someone with appropriate qualities, while clarifying that he does not intend to take up the role.
At the gathering, CJP spokesperson Saurav Dass said the movement originated from a single social media post by Dipke and gradually expanded into a wider campaign.
He added that the group is raising concerns before multiple institutions, including the Supreme Court, and referred to alleged remarks attributed to the Chief Justice of India describing them as “cockroach”.
In a separate development earlier in the day, a large group of protesters assembled at Dharna Chowk in Hyderabad, Telangana, expressing dissatisfaction with the NDA-led Central government.
Addressing the gathering, Wangchuk clarified that the movement is not driven by political ambition or targeted at any political party, but is aimed at raising awareness and protecting citizens’ rights.
Similar demonstrations have already been held in Delhi, Pune, Lucknow, and Amritsar.
