Guwahati: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) is scheduled to stage its second protest at Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) on Thursday, intensifying its campaign over the alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG examination and concerns related to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) evaluation process.

The demonstration is expected to be held between 4 pm and 6 pm near the Ambedkar Statue located within the university campus. Organisers said the protest aims to draw attention to issues affecting students and to demand accountability from authorities responsible for conducting national-level examinations.

At the centre of the protest is the party’s demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The CJP has accused the Centre of failing to adequately address concerns arising from the NEET-UG paper leak controversy, which triggered widespread criticism and anxiety among students and parents across the country.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of the event, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke called upon young people to actively participate in democratic discourse and raise questions on issues that directly affect their future. He also appealed to parents to encourage critical thinking among students rather than discouraging them from expressing their views.

“Don’t stop your children from speaking up,” Dipke said while outlining the objectives of the protest movement.

Social activist Sonam Wangchuk is also expected to join the gathering, a development that could draw wider public attention to the event. His anticipated participation has generated interest among student groups and civil society organisations.

Authorities have granted permission for the programme after reviewing the organisers’ proposal. Both the police and university administration have approved the demonstration subject to certain conditions aimed at maintaining public order and ensuring that academic activities on campus remain unaffected.

Organisers have assured that the protest will remain peaceful and will be conducted in accordance with the guidelines laid down by the authorities. The event is expected to witness participation from students, activists and members of the public concerned about transparency and fairness in the education system.
