Guwahati: Arunachal Pradeshโs ruling BJP has officially moved forward with its nomination for the stateโs lone Rajya Sabha seat, as party state president Kaling Moyong handed over the nomination ticket to senior leader Tai Tagak on June 6.
The formal announcement marks a key step in finalising the partyโs representation for the Upper House from the northeastern state. According to party leadership, Tagak has been chosen for his long-standing association with the organisation and sustained involvement in strengthening the BJPโs grassroots network across Arunachal Pradesh.
Kaling Moyong, while presenting the nomination, highlighted Tagakโs decades-long political journey within the party structure. He credited him with consistent organizational work, loyalty to the partyโs core principles and active engagement in expanding the partyโs presence in remote and rural areas of the state.
Moyong also expressed confidence that the nominee would serve as an effective representative of Arunachal Pradesh in Parliament. He said Tagak would be expected to bring forward the stateโs developmental priorities, infrastructure needs, and broader aspirations at the national level.
With the nomination process completed by the party, Tai Tagak is now positioned as the BJPโs candidate for the upcoming Rajya Sabha election from Arunachal Pradesh. His entry into the Upper House will depend on the completion of the formal electoral procedures.
