Guwahati: In a key development ahead of its planned protest in New Delhi, the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has unveiled a three-member panel of official spokespersons, according to reports on Wednesday.
The movement also received a boost after noted education reform advocate and environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk extended his support to the party’s proposed demonstration scheduled for June 6 at Jantar Mantar.
The announcement comes as CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke prepares to return from the United States to participate in the protest, which seeks the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan amid concerns surrounding recent examination-related controversies and broader issues within the education sector.
In a statement posted on its official X account, the organization appointed investigative journalist Saurav Das as Chief Spokesperson. Author and filmmaker Vijeta Dahiya, along with former IIT Kanpur student Ashutosh Ranka, have been named spokespersons and will represent the movement before the media and the public.
The organization said the newly appointed representatives will serve as the voice of the movement while advancing its vision of fostering a new political discourse and leadership culture in India.
What began as an online satirical campaign has gradually evolved into a more structured public movement, drawing increasing attention across the country.
Dipke, who recently graduated from Boston University, is expected to arrive in India on June 6 and head directly to Jantar Mantar, where supporters are set to assemble for a peaceful protest.
According to the organizers, the demonstration will focus on demands for greater transparency and accountability in the education system, particularly in the conduct and management of examinations.
