Guwahati: Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the viral “Cockroach Janata Party” (CJP), has announced that he will return to India on June 6 to hold a peaceful protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities in national examinations.
Speaking to media, Dipke said the demonstration would focus on what he described as repeated failures and controversies surrounding examination processes, an issue that has triggered widespread concern among students and parents across the country.
In a video message posted on Instagram, Dipke urged students, youth groups and supporters to participate in the proposed protest, stating that the movement would remain peaceful and constitutional in nature.
“Now is the time for all of us to come together and raise our voices democratically. We must demand accountability and seek the resignation of the Education Minister. If citizens unite, their concerns cannot be ignored,” he said.
The announcement comes amid the rise of the “Cockroach Janata Party,” a satirical online movement that emerged following remarks made by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant regarding youth and “cockroaches.”
The comments sparked intense debate across social media platforms and eventually gave birth to a digital campaign that has evolved into a broader expression of youth discontent.
Although Justice Surya Kant later clarified that sections of the media had misrepresented his remarks and taken them out of context, the campaign has continued to gain momentum.
The movement’s online presence has expanded rapidly in recent days. A dedicated website has been launched, while its Instagram account has reportedly amassed more than four million followers.
Organisers further claim that over 200,000 individuals have registered for membership through the platform.
