Dimapur: More than 6,000 government officials will be engaged in conducting Census 2027 in Nagaland, which will be carried out in two phases across the state.
The first phase of the census will involve house-listing operations and provide citizens an opportunity to enumerate their households through an online self-enumeration facility from June 16 to June 30.
This will be followed by verification of the self-enumerated data and physical enumeration of households.
The second phase, scheduled for February 2027, will focus on population enumeration, during which demographic data will be collected across the state.
The Directorate of Census Operations, Nagaland, has appealed to citizens to actively participate and extend full cooperation to ensure the successful conduct of Census 2027.
As part of the preparations, Nagaland has completed the training of field trainers for all 17 districts.
A total of 130 field trainers from across the state underwent a three-day residential training programme conducted in four batches.
The trained field trainers will subsequently impart training to census supervisors and enumerators during June 2026 across Nagaland, covering 157 sub-divisions, municipalities and towns.
The training programmes were conducted between May 20 and May 29 under the supervision of the deputy commissioners of Dimapur, Mokokchung, Kohima and Phek districts.
Officials said the training exercise recorded 100 per cent participation and forms a key part of the stateโs preparations for the nationwide census exercise.
