Guwahati: Four young men died after a severe motorcycle crash on Assam’s Mirza–Palashbari road in the early hours of Sunday, May 24

Around 2 am, during heavy rainfall, two bikes carrying five riders collided near Bajrapara with strong impact, throwing all the occupants onto the road.

Emergency responders from Palashbari Police Station arrived at the location shortly after being alerted and transported the injured to Mirza hospital, where doctors confirmed three deaths on arrival.

The victims were identified as Jyoti Kalita of Majirgaon Baruapara, Nikhil Das of Rongamati Dokanipara, and Chandan Jana from West Bengal.

Due to the seriousness of their injuries, two others, Dipankar Kalita and Arnav Barman, were moved to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital for advanced medical care.

One of the injured succumbed later in the morning while undergoing treatment, raising the total number of fatalities to four.

Local residents expressed deep sorrow over the incident, which has cast a pall of grief across the area.
