North Lakhimpur: Two youths died and another was seriously injured in a road accident at Nowboicha in Assam’s Lakhimpur late Sunday.
The incident occurred on NH-15 in Raj Ali, Nowboicha, under Laluk Police Station jurisdiction, when a motorcycle with registration number AS07 V 8390 collided head-on with an 18-wheeled truck bearing registration number AS01 NC 7559.
The accident resulted in the immediate death of two pillion riders on the motorcycle.
The deceased have been identified as Pankaj Saikia and Khagen Saikia of Meneha-Laluk, both in their mid-twenties.
Pabitra Baruah, the third pillion rider, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Lakhimpur Medical College and Hospital.
