Guwahati: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Friday announced that the re-examination for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate), NEET-UG 2026, will be conducted on June 21, bringing an end to days of uncertainty for over 22 lakh medical aspirants after the May 3 exam was cancelled over paper leak allegations.
The fresh date was announced through the official X handle of the NTA. The agency said the decision to hold the re-examination on Sunday, June 21, has been taken with the approval of the Government of India.
โNational Testing Agency has decided to conduct the re-examination of NEET (UG) 2026 on Sunday, 21 June 2026,โ the agency posted.
The May 3 examination was cancelled on May 12 following allegations of paper leak, leaving candidates awaiting clarity on the revised schedule, admit cards and admission process.
The NTA also advised candidates and parents to rely only on official communication channels for authentic updates regarding the examination.
