Guwahati: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Tuesday handed over appointment orders to successful candidates of the Non-Ministerial Technical Examination (NMTE) 2025, conducted by the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board, at a formal ceremony attended by senior officials.
The event was also attended by Rajya Sabha MP Nabam Rebia, Minister Balo Raja and Chief Secretary Manish Kumar Gupta.
Congratulating the newly appointed candidates, the Chief Minister said,โI congratulate each one of you on your success. This achievement is the result of your hard work, perseverance and merit.I also recognise the role played by your families and well-wishers who stood by you throughout this journey.โ
Highlighting the significance of the ceremony, Khandu said the process of issuing appointment orders has been in place since the Boardโs inception, but the present format brings candidates together on a single platform. โI feel such gatherings not only celebrate your achievement but also create a sense of belonging and camaraderie among those entering government service,โ he said.
Emphasising transparency in recruitment, the Chief Minister noted that the establishment of the Staff Selection Board marked a major reform. โI have seen how, in the past, deserving candidates often faced difficulties due to lack of transparency. Today, we have a system where recruitment is based purely on merit, with near zero-error processes and full transparency,โ he said.
Describing the Board as an ISO-certified recruitment agency alongside the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission, Khandu expressed confidence in the stateโs institutional framework. โI believe we now have strong systems in place to ensure fairness and equal opportunity for all aspirants,โ he added.
Providing details of the recruitment, Khandu said, โOut of 225 sanctioned posts, 183 have been filled through this examination. We are issuing appointment orders to 166 candidates today, while some posts remain vacant due to eligibility issues or candidates choosing other opportunities.โ
On capacity building, the Chief Minister stressed the need for structured training. โI believe training is essential, especially for technical personnel. Departments must work with training institutions to equip recruits with the right skills and professional competence,โ he said.
Addressing the candidates, he reminded them of their responsibilities.โYou must serve the people with sincerity, honesty and compassion. Government service is about public welfare. I urge you to remain humble and ensure that citizens feel respected when they approach you,โ he said.
Reiterating the governmentโs commitment to improving working conditions, Khandu said efforts are underway to upgrade infrastructure across departments. โWe are conducting district-wise reviews to identify gaps in office spaces, healthcare facilities and residential accommodation so that you can work in a better environment,โ he said.
