Dimapur: The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Nagaland, on Thursday informed that a control room has been activated in connection with the upcoming by-election to the 28-Koridang Assembly constituency.

In a notification, the CEOโ€™s office stated that all election-related queries and complaints regarding violations of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) may be reported through the toll-free helpline number 1950, the state control room at 8787725554, or the district control room at 8787890205 / 0369-2225015.

In a separate notification, the second round of training for polling personnel under Mokokchung district was conducted at Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School on Thursday. Addressing the trainees, Mokokchung Additional Deputy Commissioner Atsung Walling urged them to carry out their responsibilities with diligence and efficiency.

Meanwhile, the Government of the Peopleโ€™s Republic of Nagalim (GPRN) under the NSCN-IM has issued a directive prohibiting its โ€œnational workersโ€ from participating in or interfering with the forthcoming Koridang by-election.

According to an order issued by GPRN/NSCN secretary Q Swu, the directive has been enforced โ€œas directed by the competent authorityโ€ and must be adhered to strictly. It warned that any national worker found attempting to influence or engage in the electoral process will face disciplinary action.
