Guwahati: Authorities in Arunachal Pradesh’s Papum Pare district have formed special monitoring teams to oversee the distribution and supply of LPG cylinders as well as petroleum products, officials confirmed on March 24.
This step has been taken to curb illegal practices such as hoarding and black marketing, while also making sure that essential fuel supplies remain consistently available throughout the district.
As per an official order, the decision to establish these teams comes in response to the current global energy supply conditions, with the aim of tightening supervision over the movement and availability of LPG and petroleum, oil, and lubricants (POL).
These committees will keep a close watch on how fuel supplies are managed within their assigned areas, ensuring there are no interruptions or unfair practices in the system.
The development comes after the district administration recently appealed to residents to avoid unnecessary bulk purchases or panic-driven booking of LPG cylinders, while reassuring the public that supply levels remain sufficient.
Authorities have further cautioned that anyone involved in unlawful activities such as stockpiling, illegal resale, or manipulating prices of LPG and petroleum products will face strict legal consequences.
