Imphal: The Seventh Session of the Twelfth Manipur Legislative Assembly will resume on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. in the Assembly Hall, Imphal, according to an official notification issued on Friday. Officials indicated that the state budget is likely to be presented during the proceedings.

The seventh session of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly opened on February 5, 2026, with the Governor’s address and was adjourned by the Speaker on the same day.

This one-day session followed the swearing-in of Yumnam Khemchand Singh as the 13th Chief Minister of the state on February 4, 2026, marking the end of the assembly’s suspension, which had been in place since February 13, 2025.

The previous one-day session was held just a day after a popular government was formed in the state. Yumnam Khemchand Singh was sworn in as Chief Minister after Presidentโ€™s Rule was revoked in Manipur, a state that has been affected by ethnic violence since 2023.

During the February 5 session, Manipur Home Minister Govindas Konthoujam moved the motion of thanks to the Governorโ€™s address, which was seconded by Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho.

Thereafter, the Report of the Business Advisory Committee, 2026, was tabled on the floor of the House. Chief Minister and Leader of the House Yumnam Khemchand Singh moved the Motion of Confidence.

This motion, which was later passed, saw participation from the Leader of the Opposition Okram Ibobi and MLAs K. Ranjit, Kh. Meghachandra, Th. Lokeshore, and Surjakumar Okram.

The sitting of the Seventh Session of the Twelfth Manipur Legislative Assembly was adjourned sine die by the Honโ€™ble Speaker, Th. Satyabrata Singh.
