In a ghastly incident, miscreants killed a lady and injured her husband in a remote area near Pachin Colony in Naharlagun near Itanagar.

A report published in Arunachal24.in quoted the Superintendent of Police (SP) Capital M Harsha Vardhan as saying on Wednesday, “We received information at Naharlagun Police Station regarding assault in a remote area near Pachin Colony. When the police team reached the spot, the lady was already dead and her husband wounded with grievous injuries. The couple was taken to Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) where the lady was declared dead.”

Harsha Vardhan also stated that the scene of crime was a “remote location with no motorable roads and could be reached on foot only after walking for over 2 km and crossing a river”. The report further stated that the deceased lady has been identified as 45-year-old Aisha Bano and her husband Ramzan Ali who survived the fatal attack has been admitted to TRIHMS.

The deceased and her husband were staying in an isolated bamboo dwelling amidst farm lands and were working as farm labourers. A case has been registered at Naharlagun Police Station and investigations are on, informed the SP. Harsha Vardhan said that his team will “pull out all stops” to bring the culprits to book.
