Imphal: Security forces arrested four insurgents from banned outfits, including a woman cadre, and one alleged drug smuggler on Monday in separate operations across Manipur, officials said on Tuesday.
Two cadres of the proscribed Kanglei Yaol Kanna Lup (KYKL), Hawaijam Nganthoiba (19) of Lakhipur-PS, Cachar district, Assam, and Moirangthem Jenith Singh (24) of Ningthou Pareng Maning under Kakching Police Station in Kakching district, were apprehended from Jagnoi near Indo-Myanmar border pillar No. 80, under Moreh Police Station in Tengnoupal district.
In a separate operation, Sanasam Rozy Devi alias Zy (26), an active woman cadre of the banned Kangleipak Communist Party-Apunba (KCP-Apunba), was arrested at Taothong Khunou near Khutheibam Lampak, under Lamshang Police Station, Imphal West district. Interrogation of Devi led authorities to another arrest-Phijam Rainson Singh alias Luwangcha (29), a member of KCP-Noyon, was taken into custody from Sawombung area under Lamlai-PS, Imphal East district.
In another operation, security forces arrested Md. Jayad Khan (42) of Sangaiyumpham Part-II, Cherapur, under Thoubal Police Station. Officials seized 10 soap cases containing Heroin No. 4, weighing approximately 397 grams, along with a single-barrel gun, six live rounds, and a two-wheeler.
