Yangoubung villagers reported unexploded bombs near Border Pillars 72-73.

Imphal: Central security forces and Manipur police, including a bomb detection and disposal squad, successfully detected and neutralised explosive items during phased operations along the Indo-Myanmar border, officials reported on Friday.

The operation began after villagers near Yangoubung village, under Moreh police station in Tengnoupal district, reported unexploded bombs near Border Pillars 72-73. Bomb experts recovered and safely neutralised three improvised explosive devices (IEDs) at the site.

In a second phase of the operation in the Tarao Lamkhai area under Tengnoupal-PS, the joint forces recovered three improvised mortars of Pompi, one IED, three hand grenades, and a walkie-talkie set with charger.

All recovered items were registered under relevant cases and deposited at the respective police stations, officials said.
