Guwahati: Ezrela Dalidia Fanai, 41, a journalist from Mizoram, was found dead in her Aizawl apartment on Thursday morning.
Dalidia, a reporter with Doordarshan Kendra Aizawl and a contributor to All India Radio News, had a long career reporting on the Northeast for national audiences.
She also worked with media organisations including India Today, NDTV, and various regional outlets.
A member of the Mizoram Journalists’ Association, her colleagues remember her as a dedicated journalist who consistently highlighted local and regional stories.
She had been living alone after the recent deaths of her mother and pet dog. Sources said she had been facing emotional challenges following these losses.
Police confirmed she was alone at the time of her death. Preliminary checks found no signs of foul play, and further procedures are underway as per standard protocol.
