Kokrajhar Police on Saturday apprehended one fake doctor from Kokrajhar town.
Informing this, Rajen Singh, Kokrajhar Superintendent of Police said, “The arrested fake doctor has been identified as 35-year-old Hafiz Ajijur Rahman. He is a resident of Dampurgram Alamganj area under Gauripur Police Station in Dhubri district.”
The head of the Kokrajhar police also said, “Prescriptions and medicines were recovered from the poossession of the fake doctor. He claimed to have provided kabiraji treatment for diseases like piles to various patients at Kokrajhar town.”
The Kokrajhar SP also said, “The fake doctor is just Class VII passed. But he identified himself as an expert doctor of piles and other diseases and prescribed medicines.”
Singh added, “After his arrest, the fake doctor has been taken to Kokrajhar Police Station and the process of legal action against him is going on.”
Arrested Hafiz Ajijur Rahman said, “I am not a doctor and did not study MBBS course. But I had been doing kabiraji and have been giving treatment to patients.”
He asserted that he had never claimed himself as a doctor.
However, a Bloodd Pressure (BP) check-up machine was also recovered from his possession.
