With downstream floodwaters form Nagaland inundating huge areas of Bokakhat sub-division of Golaghat district of Assam, the entire grip is in the grip of a severe calamity.
After Sarupathar, Borpathar, most of the areas of Numaligarh are now under flood waters triggering panic among the local residents.

Meanwhile, the Central Water Commission has informed that the water level of Dhansisri River at Numaligarh was flowing at 79.94 m meters at 10:00 am on Thursday.
This is exceeding the previous highest flood level of 79.87 meters recorded in 1985.
The CWC has further warned that it is expected to rise to 80.01 m meters by 4 pm on Thursday.
On the other hand, the water level of Brahmaputra River is flowing 0.14 metre above the danger mark at Dhansirimukh of Bokakhat.
The Central Water Commission also said that the increase is in a slow pace and there is no immediate danger to Kaziranga and its adjoining areas.
