In a move to give civil service aspirants of the north-eastern region wings to chase their dream, Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi inaugurated the Assam chapter of Samkalp, a civil service mentoring centre in Guwahati at a function held at Down Town Hospital Auditorium on Wednesday.
Samkalp, Assam chapter is an initiative to guide civil service aspirants of the Northeast to guide them to prepare for the civil service examinations conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
Inaugurating the venture, Governor Prof Mukhi said that Samkalp, Assam chapter will provide a platform for the aspirants of the Northeast in Guwahati which will definitely serve the greater interests of the students of the entire region to pursue their dream.
He also said, “It is really a good news for the civil service aspirants of the Northeast which will greatly benefit the students.”
He also said that following the inauguration of Samkalp, students of this part of the country will get quality mentoring here in Guwahati without having to travel to Delhi or any other places.
The Governor also said that Samkalp, Assam chapter would be a new dawn in the annals of civil service preparation for the students of the Northeast.
The Governor also felicitated the successful candidates of the recently conducted UPSC examinations and congratulated them for their sheer perseverance and dedication.
He also urged upon them to contribute for the development of the nation.
State Education Minister Siddhartha Bhattacharyya while speaking on the occasion, said that with the formal inauguration of Samkalp, Assam chapter, students would get ample opportunities to prepare for the civil service examinations.
First lady of Assam Prem Mukhi, founder of Samkalp Santosh Taneja along with a host of other dignitaries were also present in the inaugural function.
