Former Indian football captain and vice president of Hamro Sikkim Party (HSP), Bhaichung Bhutia on Thursday exuded confidence that his party has earned the good will of the people during the last one and half months of its formation.
Interacting with media persons at Rangpo, the town in East Sikkim district, Bhaichung expressed satisfaction at the progress of his party at the grassroots level in South and West districts.
He also said they are going to the villages and meeting the people during the door-to-door campaign.
Bhaichung along with former minister Ran Bahadur Subba had floated the HSP at Daramdin in West Sikkim on May 31 last.
Speaking on the organizational expansion of HSP, Bhaichung said the HSP would now focus on holding party activities in East and North districts.
He further said that youth empowerment initiatives and promotion of sports are among the top priorities of his party.
Lambasting at the ruling Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF), Bhaichung said the SDF has always ignored development of sports, music and other engaging pursuits of Sikkimese youth.
